The Official Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair
Our trip to Kerrville was memorable, to say the least! We had unexpected rain all three days! The weather definitely affected the crowds, but we had a good show nonetheless. And the “Naughty Cats” series were definitely the star of the show. Our booth was right next to the stage, so we had great “seats” for the amazing musical talent.
I am writing this from the shotgun seat of “Big Red”, our pickup truck, and we are halfway across Texas, on our way to San Diego CA for the La Jolla Art Festival this coming weekend. We spend the night in Tucson AZ tonight, and drive the rest of the way to La Jolla tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates.

La Jolla Festival of the Arts
We had an amazing trip to La Jolla. Since we were bringing tent and art to California, we made the 1400 mile trip by pick up truck. We loved seeing the terrain between Richmond and the west – crossing the desert and mountains in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The La Jolla Festival has to be the most organized and well run art show we have ever been in! They treated us like royalty. My art was very well received (especially the Coastal Series) and the people were wonderful. We met a man who majored in graphic arts that is longing to create again, and a professional woman who is looking for satisfying work to put her hands to while she stays home with her children for a season. They both were intrigued with Reduction Linocut, and I was delighted to share with them. We made new artist friends, sang praise music on the beach before witnessing baptisms in the Pacific, ran in the icy water, and came home inspired.

Rockport Art Festival
We had our best show ever this year in Rockport. We made a special weekend of it by staying at the Angel Rose B & B – Rusty and Jennifer are the most gracious hosts! It was HOT HOT HOT, but the forecasted rain held off until Monday. The art crowd in Rockport are savvy and fun, so we had a wonderful time. We were able to catch up with old art buddies, and make new young friends. Molly (our calico) is soooo glad that we are home!
